Last minute spec for Supernatural 5.22

May 13, 2010 14:47

I have heard one-and-a-halfish spoilers for the finale. This spec is not based on them, but this spec does mention the show's renewal status. Also, this spec is utterly incoherent.

Of course, I'm no doubt completely wrong about all of this. O.O

Certainties:

-"Carry On" montage. *wibble*

-Dean's Family Theme will ambush the crap out of me at an apt moment and kill me stone dead.

Probabilities:

-Jesse the surfer-anti-christ will return from Australia. He's a big gun. Big L has to be trying to get him, and if he gets into Sam, he might be able to put the dots together and figure out where to look. 75% chance of Jesse.

-Chuck has to show up in some capacity. 80% chance. (While it would be cool if there's an in-series fandom kind of reverse prophesy thing where he writes the ending they want to happen, with like puppies and rainbows and stuff and distributes it to the fandom with the tulpa-symbol, and massive crack ensues, I don't know. I still want the in-show fandom to be used as ranged eyes-and-ears.) 10% chance of an email response being sent from Chuck's fake address (carveredlund@gmail.com) to anyone who wrote to it since it appeared, sent during the east coast airing, tying in to the episode. (Probably not. But damn that'd be cool.)

Vague Possibilities:

-Kali might show up. Not guessing in what capacity, though I have my suspicions. given the amount of stuff to shoehorn in, not a high probability. 10% chance.

-We'll meet God. Maybe 10% chance. IF we meet God, he'll be played by either surprise!JDM or Bruce Campbell (who Kripke's notoriously been trying to get to guest from the beginning, and while he has been turning Kripke down, I can see Bruce making an exception to play God) and the crack content will exceed levels hitherto undreamt-of by humankind.

-More Death. After the rings are used. 5% chance.

-Ash and Heaven's Roadhouse. 5% chance of... something. I don't know.

Lots, lots, lots more possibilities of course, but this is a quick thrown-together post from work, so it's sketchy.

Episode as I see it happening maybe:

-Montage. \o/

-Scene with Chuck. Bits of info, I don't know. I feel like there has to be some kind of scene with Chuck.

-Detroit. Sam says yes to L, possibly after getting away from Dean who's trying to stop him.

-Bobby dies trying to stop Sam. Kind of hope not at the hands of L-in-Sam, but given that it's Kripke, and that would set up some serious future Sam angst for Sera to play with, it might happen.

-Crowley dies, either trying something embarrassingly noble, or in a reveal that he's been working against them or something. I don't know how to read Crowley's motivations beyond self-interest and I love that. Although I think he's been siding with L all along. Or not. Whee! \o/

-Confrontation between Dean and Michael-in-Adam. Dean trying to convert Michael to the 'stuff L back in the cage' plan. Not sure which way M might go. Adam will be looking rough, since as far as we know, his mom probably didn't have full vessel blood.

-Lucifer-in-Sam is going to spend some time this episode inside a holy oil circle. Probably one over-top of the cage entrance if they can swing it.

-Possible Michael-in-Adam attempt to talk to Big L. Can't see Michael getting killed, but it's possible. Either way, Adam's toast again some more.

-Big L rounds up little Jesse and convinces him to send the angels to the cornfield, or at least their powers. Which... hm... Castiel's already powerless, so.... ooo. OOOOOO!!!! It could be that he's... arg... how to explain this? It could be that Jesse's anti-angel thing works like an electro-magnetic pulse. To my very limited knowledge, if an EMP is set off, any equipment that's on and powered goes irrevocably foom. If equipment isn't powered up, it survives and can function after the pulse passes. Which means Castiel hasn't been recharged yet for his own protection, and so he can remain effective after the effect. Ooooo... I really hope that's the case now! *bounces*

-Sam will, at the last minute and due to some kind of brotherly attempt to rescue him or something, or due to a direct threat being presented to Dean, (and Lucifer being hit by the Jesse EMP-effect since he's an angel too and subsequently disoriented) resist enough to jump in the cage, accompanied by a whole lot of howling from Dean.

-Castiel will jump in right after Sam, (since I doubt L would stick around in Sam after getting in the cage) and shove Sam back out. And get trapped in the cage with Lucifer. O.O

-HUGS! And ANGST! And regrouping to rescue Castiel (and possibly Bobby) from Hell ASAP!

So. End result. Apocalypse dealt with, Sam and Dean alive and well physically intact for the most part, with matching hand-prints. Bobby dead (and needing rescued from Hell unless Crowley IS on their side in which case there could be a reprieve at the last minute and he'll head up to Heaven and hang out with Ash at the Roadhouse in between meeting back up with his wife and so forth) which I've been expecting since Season 2, Crowley dead (traitorously dead, nobly dead, either way) or alive working against them after the apocalypse is dealt with since it'll be back to status quo and all alliances are dissolved, and Castiel trapped in an impossible-to-escape cage in Hell with Lucifer and so freaking hooped it's ridiculous.

On the other hand, Kripke could load everyone into the Impala and drive it into Hell like ficwriter1966 said, and Kripke did something rather similar at the end of season 1 with the demonic semi so it's not an impossible option by any stretch of the imagination. Or he could have both boys say yes and walk off cackling, leaving it to Sera and Ben to bat clean-up on the Apocalypse in the fall. And I can't even process the potential implications of what is on May 13th this year that they probably won't even reference and no one noticed. O.O I don't even know anymore.

Even with all that and all the even more nerve-wracking possibilities I'm not putting in there, I really do still have zen. I do. It's just a kind of twitchy, psycho, masochistic zen right now.
