There is some interesting cinematography going on in this show, and this was such a quick little thing, just one bit of that scene, that it can't be accidental. :-)
I took a couple Film Studies courses in college and every so often this show uses shot composition and framing techniques that influence the implications of a scene.
Although I fail to spot the jacket-is-darker-than-its-shadowy-side-should-be thing.
It's not that the jacket is darker than it should be, it's just that it's darker because it's in shadow. The tone of the mirror image is a little green-yellow, but not much. It's always interesing in film when there are two representations of the same person on the screen and one is brighter or darker than the other. It's like chiaroscuro. Hmm... I think I'm going to add something about Chiaroscuro above.
*ack* You make my brain hurt. How am I supposed to let all those bunnys out that keep spawning in my head. Separated by walls, internal conflict,... *argl* *is off writing*
Oh yes! My sister rynnalyn pointed this out to me too. They did so much with mirrors last season, I love that they carried it over to this season as well.

I again have to agree to all written above. Although I fail to spot the jacket-is-darker-than-its-shadowy-side-should-be thing.
