Heh, my sister called me on my 'dude' usage this Easter, which was a bit extreme. She asked "Since when have you said 'dude'?" and I said "Uhhhhhhhhh, high school?" because my family is intrinsicly non-convertible, sad to say. They would have me literally exorcised, and not in a fun "Winchester boys tie me to a chair" sort of way... *koff*
Ooh! And I did call my boss 'dude' once. She's 64. :-D
I'm sorry. :( But hey, on the upside you don't have to travel halfway across the country to go to the Canadian con! *is quietly jealous*
*does double-take* Wait - you read it before? You read my LJ? Really? I just always assumed that cuz it was one of those one-way LJ friending things that you didn't. Not that I lie awake at night going "OMG one-way friendship! The Angst!" or anything - I'm many things, but neurotic, mercifully, is not one of them - but I am still pleasantly surprised and happy to hear that you do read it.

It might as well be halfway across the country. I'm probably not going to be able to go, for a couple annoying reasons, mostly involving my boss. Still hoping, but not very likely. :-/

I'm kind of anti-social, am really bad at maintaining correspondence and have bouts of extreme hermitude. I've only been on LJ six months, so I don'

Okay, that WOULD be worse: having it be so close, and yet so far. *crosses fingers for you*

Oh THANK GOD I'm not the only one!!! *clings* Seriously, after my intial bout of SPN friending I reined myself back for the same reason. As it stands, I constantly feel behind on my f-list and am always apologizing for not getting back to people sooner. Everyone else seems to have an f-list a zillion people long and are constantly writing and commenting to everyone promptly and I swear I have NO idea how they keep on top of it all. :P So actually, your technique makes a LOT of sense.
(And I'm still unreasonably delighted to hear that you drop by, however sporadically. *grin* You are welcome anytime!)
Happy one-year anniverary, and here's to many more!
(And I'm glad to hear I'm not the only geek who (a) has reached an entirely new level of obsession with SPN and (b) uses different language now.
DUDE.
