I saw Friends With Benefits today, the one with Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake. And it gave me something of a meltdown - no, it didn't have anything to do with Timberlake's acting abilities (or lack thereof).
Okay, this post will be fairly spoiler heavy. I won't give you the entire movie rundown, but let's be honest - anything with the title "Friends With Benefits" is kind of giving the entire thing away. There aren't any plot twists and I completely appreciated their use of Semisonic - a band whom I love.
However, I kind of freaked out.
Mila Kunis plays a girl named Jamie, who is "emotionally damaged". The audience is basically told that this mostly stems from her crazy mother (played by Patricia Clarkson who is FLAWLESS) and the fact that she has never met her own father, she knows nothing about him.
Um, my name is Jamie and I have never met my father and don't know a thing about him. Though I have never slept with Justin Timberlake, I kind of spent the movie aghast, freaking out that some douchebag had read my diary or an ex one night stand had gone to Hollywood to pitch an idea.
I don't however, look like Mila Kunis. She makes me feel guilty about not going to the gym though - watching this movie, yelling at the screen and having Justin Timberlake mention that "Magnum P.I couldn't sort her issues out" really doesn't motivate a person to get their ass on the treadmill.
It does however motivate them to eat a small bag of chocolate coins and wonder why the hell Bryan Greenberg hasn't had more of a career.
Rant over. Seriously, can I sue? ;)
