"Got 'em!" Estelle announced triumphantly by way of greeting, as she fell in step with day shift supervisor Conrad Ecklie.
"The stabbing case?"
Tell nodded. "Yeah; we matched the partial on the knife through AFIS, and from that we were able to..." Her usual frenzied pace had put several feet's distance between them by this point, but she chattered on regardless - as usual, unaware of the other's lagging speed. Tell quirked an eyebrow, not in the least discouraged. "I was getting to that," She said mildly, "The print was a match to Andrew Gardner-"
"The boyfriend," Ecklie nodded, unsurprised.
"Yeah. So, we matched his DNA to the skin cells found under the vic's fingernails and the blood on the knife handle. He's going down for first degree murder, and I am on a break." She added, with a finality that seemed to render the case closed even more so than her announced apprehension of the perpetrator.
With this, she slipped past her supervisor, and continued on down the hall, brisk as ever.
"Good work," Ecklie called after her.
It really was surprising how she managed never to bump into anything.
Tell shot a quick grin in his direction, then ducked into the break room...
