Hey guys. Thanks for stopping by.
A little about me: USC grad, 24, vegan, non-smoker, one cat. I lived in LA for 5 1/2 years and loved it, but relocated to the Bay Area when I needed a change.
It's been a year and I'm ready to move back to LA, but I'm having trouble finding an apartment. I found an amazing one on Ventura and Vineland, but they promised me one move-in date and reneged on it, so I had to give it up or I'd be paying double rent for the whole month of September. I applied to two more apartments, but I'm in competition with other people, and my odds aren't looking good.
I'm mainly looking in Studio City and West Hollywood, as those are the areas I know best and spend the most time in. I'm not opposed to looking on the West Side, but I haven't had much luck and it is less desirable. Los Feliz/Echo Park/Atwater Village are also on my radar, but I can't find anything.
I'm looking for a studio or 1 bedroom, preferably no smaller than 500 sq ft, and no pricier than $1600. If what you have to recommend doesn't fit those requirements, send it my way anyway! The place just needs to be safe, clean, and pet friendly.
I'm on all the major rental sites, and I do have a couple of places that I'm going to look at when I'm in town next week, but they're requiring me to tap into a bookmark folder titled "Desperation Apartments".
Between apartment hunting and job interviews, I'll have driven from the Bay to Los Angeles once a week for four weeks. It's an expensive drive, and time consuming, and I really need to focus on tying up loose ends in the Bay because I need to move in roughly three weeks.
