Are there any inside play areas in Texas? There are quite a few here. I haven't been to any in Toronto, but my parents and sister take my sister's kids to a couple of different ones in Oakville. They often have big (and little) play structures, but inside!

We have been fortunate to have Bayview Village so close. The Chapters there was recently renovated to make it even more kid friendly (train table, doll house, toddler tables and chairs) and the kid friendly area is right by the Starbucks, so you can grab a coffee then sit and watch your kid play with the toys they've got out exactly for that purpose. There's also a toy store there with a bunch of toys out for the kids (including a train table). It's relatively quiet in the toy store so the staff sometimes seem to be watching you BUT it's probably just because they don't have anything better to do.

Do you have a mall nearby? I am assuming your Texan malls would be as air conditioned as ours are... Malcolm really enjoys running up and down the aisles (and peeking into shops to smile at the customer service representatives) while I enjoy the air conditioned comfort (that I don't have to pay for!).
