(no subject)
There's nothing quite like the feeling of accomplishment to wrap up the work week in a good way.
I thought for sure I'd end it way behind, but I'm good. I lost two days of work doing a huge project for one of our VP's that involved me digging through the past two years of Accounts Payables and putting it on a cd for him one invoice at a time. If I could have scanned them to the computer in batches, it would have been fine, but no. I had to scan them one at a time, so each invoice was a separate file. Wee.
This morning, in the span of four hours, I caught up on the two days of regular work piled into my in box, entered the payables stuff I needed to do before doing this weeks payables stuff, went through six companies and reconciled the payments and printed cheques, then did my "need it by noon or the world will end stuff". Normally, this would take me at least a couple of days to complete, but with the office more than half empty and the phones dead I was able to just put my nose to the grindstone and get it all done. Now, all I have is a tiny bit of filing to carry me through the rest of the day, but I don'd mind that. I can use a bit of slow here for once. Wait for it though...we're starting to head into our slow season so I'll be whining one month from now, without a doubt. LOL.
I'm going to be entering the Man of the Season Contest on Insim and I think I know who I'm going to enter, but I want to find a new skin for him. It's hard to describe, but I'll know it when I see it. I'm not good enough yet to just whip up what I want and I would hate to have to settle. I found a Gigeresque skin on TSR that's kind of neat and close-but-not-close to the kind of look I want. There's some neat ideas on Genesims, but they're on *shudder* Maxis basis *shudder*. So, I'm snob. LOL.
Last night, I had a kick ass idea for the story I'm writing for Jax. I really can't wait to work on it. *dance* I might try and sneak in a bit of writing today. *dance*
