Have Your Cake and Eat It
This is a bit of a break from the usual chapters of Cafe Diaries but I couldn't resist writing about this lovely book. I went to the London Review of Books Cake Shop today with two friends and copies of this beautiful book lay on the tables; we read through the whole book- every single page is so pretty and I thought (finally, finally!) there's a book devoted to listing down the best and nicest places to have tea/coffee AND cake in London. Admittedly this book will be most useful to people who do live in London but the pictures of all the cake shops and the cakes that are sold, are beautifully shot, and the descriptions are succinct and honest. I'm going to order this book on Amazon soon- it's officially on my Christmas-wish-list.
