In the Waning Storm

My humblest gratitude to all those brave adventurers who brought me the beaniful bounty of their battles. I've discussed your rewards and will be coming through on my end of the bargain shortly.

[Private to Dresden and Molita, Low Security]

... Thanks.

[Private to Mia, Same Security]I had a little chat about things with Harry and Toph. They know ( Read more... )

People bring you their swag from battles? How on earth do you get them to do that? And what battles? Surely there aren't duels here, are there?

Then again... given the proper reward, I'm sure anyone would hand over their profits...

When you're the dungeonmaster, you can set whatever quest and reward you like, little lady. Aspiring adventurers will flock to your table in any case.

... You're the dungeonmaster?!

So it's you who's keeping us here? The rewards... Those must be a promise of freedom!

..... Ha...!

I'm afraid you're mistaken, amiga. I was being metaphorical. I asked some friends to find me some vital supplies and they came through on their end of the deal.

Though it certainly would be nice if I were the one keeping us here. Few want to escape with as pressing urgency as me.

.... Oh.

Well... I'm glad they came through. I guess some people can be trusted.

... You want out -that- badly? To think that there are others who don't want out as much as you do?

A hard day's work must be earned with a broken back and a sweaty T-shirt. That's one of my rules.

We are all living on borrowed time, amiga, but some of us ride the second hand around.

That's fine if you want to live by rule, since it is one of your own.

It's still not fair of you to say that you deserve to leave more than others!

Hey now, when did the subject of worthiness come up? I said I wanted to leave, not that I deserve to. If you keep pouring your own blends in other people's grinders, you're liable to get burned, amiga.

I.. I'm sorry. :( I just miss my onii-sama so much... I've never been away from home without him or my friends. I'm just not used to it.

Chin up, amiga. Little is solved in letting a situation get you down. The mark of a true professional is to keep smiling-- the lips move up and the body follows suit. That's another of my rules.

.. You seem to have a lot of rules. What are you, a school teacher or something?

But... that rule sort of makes sense.

Ha...! I pity the class forced to sit before me. I used to be a lawyer.

Glad you think so. I live by my own rules, but they work pretty well if you don't mind living by others'.

A lawyer? Oh... You just had so many rules, I assumed you were a teacher or chairman or something of that sort.

I prefer to make my own rules... But there's no harm in pondering others' rules.
