So an update for folks:

Jan 23, 2007 14:28

Clearly, we got no days off, or I'd have been all over this piece, tellin' you all about it.  In the meantime:

Chamber Singers is good times.  We're learning, really we are.  So is Concert Choir.  Beethoven was a madman when he wrote An die Freude (Ode to Joy).  That little mamma-jamma is HIGH.  ACDA is really taking off, and getting ready for the Biennial National Convention.  We're going, some of us.  It means missing a good number of class days, and backs directly onto choir tour, which takes 2 more days.  That trip is going to be expensive.  We're looking for folks to sponsor us in any way or amount they can.  As a choir, we're trying to get sponsors to give 25 dollars for a singer's food for tour.  Doing so gets that sponsor mentioned in the program by the singer's name.  We're also taking part in other fundraising opportunities, as a choir, and as the ACDA chapter.  So I'm gonna be trying to come up with ideas for people to ask for sponsorship help.  (I'm thinking of asking JPI to sponsor my food for tour.  I can call Mrs. Dana in Houston and explain, and if she approves she'll just have Ms. Tresea cut a check.)  In a little while I'm headed to the SUB, to represent ACDA with some other folks at the Campus Activities Board meeting to ask for money to help with the trip.

I have lesson times for everything now, I'm just waiting to find out when the electronic music class (still TBA) will be.  I'm becoming more organized, getting more done.  With patience from others, I'm starting to actually develop some of my own.

My voice jury is at 1100h a week from today.  and I. Will. Be. Ready.  I'm gonna have to be careful, though, my voice is trying to adjust to being in 2 choirs, lessons, and practicing a lot for Juries.  I can't get sick!  NO!  (I'm not about to, I just feel the tired/sore setting in.)

I'm making my teachers into allies (those that didn't already know me).  Math and Sociology more than the others, and Sociology most of all.  He really likes my wood ring, was impressed that I made it myself, and most of all... might have me make him a smaller one.  He thinks it'd be really cool.  (Like, to wear for the rest of his life, he said something about a wedding...)

For now, at least, the world is looking up, and I'm going to trust to God and the good will of others to help me fund all the stuff that needs funding!

Be good, kids.
