car auction

think about something cute, fluffy, fuzzy, happy, and warm.

now imagine that someone just shot it in the face with both barrels of a shotgun, so that the face came out where the tail used to be.

With that analogy, the short version:
I bought a car.

It's been nothing but trouble since.  Work, repairs, amazing amounts of money.

I'm broke for the next lifetime or two, roughly.

y'all have a great day.

Edit, 2232:
The car, in case anyone wonders, is a 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva.  It's dark green.  It has 4 doors (twice as many as my last car!), AM/FM radio, and a really quiet A/C system.  It's got 83k miles on it, 50k less than the visitor to the park I met today (see comments).  The speedometer goes up to 120.  My trunk is big enough to put two large people in, with food and drinks for a week.  Er, I mean, it holds a whole lot.

It needs a lot of work, but it should be ready tomorrow afternoon.  Dad's paying for it, and I'm paying him back.

Oh, so today in the Entrance Station, it occurred to me:  I could start a blog similar to something we have in the ES.  It's called "The Journal of the Wierd and Stupid."  In it we keep a journal of the best stories from the visiting public.  This way, other employees who miss the excitement can still enjoy the tale.  I think that, as an RA, I'm gonna be flush with great stories from the Wierd and Stupid categories.  After all, I'll be working in Madison...  Who among you, readers, would add the journal of the wierd and stupid to your friends list for some laughs, just so I can gauge the worth of starting it!
