YAWR says I

As I was mourning the loss of the trees in front of my balcony and trying to justify it by how much its opened up the overall landscape of a large pond and high rise trees in the backdrop, I saw cigarette butts on the ground. I ran upstairs and pounded on the door of my new neighbor - the smoker. As I waited at the door, wondering how to be polite about not smoking on the balcony, nothing happened. I pounded the door again. Nothing. So I decided to write a little note on a piece of paper with butterflies and flowers all over it. I placed it in a card with a picture of baby foxes and affixed my address label that came from the many wildlife conservation letters that I get. The visual effect should have been clear enough but just in case it wasn't, my note read:

Hi-

I'm your neighbor downstairs and noticed that there are cigarette butts on the ground level where a family and their 2 children live. I also have asthma and would appreciate it if you don't smoke on the balcony because I can smell it and second hand smoke negatively affects my health as well as others.

I would appreciate it if you respected the health of your neighbors and the natural beauty of our backyard environment.

Kindly,
[Me]

In other news, I am really procrastinating. I need to draft a white paper tonight for review tomorrow. I wish it was a manic Monday.
