Updatage:
1) We are FINALLY in our permanent residence! It feels like we've moved about three full times, which is not far from the truth. Of course, the entire apartment is a sea of opened boxes and cardboard and styrofoam and books, but whatever. It is not, however, full of mutant crickets and giant spiders and scorpions, making it a vast improvement over my place last year.
2) I put together an end table and the world's most complicated filing cabinet ever. I can recognize a camlock screw and used multiple tools. I am awesome!! (nevermind that each of these came with detailed instructions and labeled parts...)
3) I start teaching tomorrow. Woo.
4) Our entire bathroom matches and is organized. You cannot understand how happy this makes me. Seriously. Yes, I am obsessive-compulsive, and yes, I derive great joy from the matching set of shower curtain, rug, and towels. Which are complimented by the chrome soap dish and toothbrush holder, and the whole look is pulled together by the wicker candle basket. Don't judge me; I am a sick woman.
5) Two days ago I found a squirrel hanging from the window screen in the kitchen. Just...suspended there, chattering away. I could have poked his stomach.
