Hey dude! Remember me? We met in Wicker Park with Franky Vivid for his Libido magazine idea that never happened. Well, I wanted to tell you about this thing I'm doing:
I'm hosting a group artshow here in Chicago either late August or Mid-September. Basically the idea/theme of the show is how people and ideas connect through Blogs. I have all these different artists on my flist and seen some mad talent, and I wanted to try to curate a show that showcased the idea of how blogs are communities, foster creativity, are the new and widely used forum for communicating ideas and talent and how it's become this platform for networking and expression. Another reason for the show is to raise awareness for people that aren't bloggers to the reality that blogs very real presence and kind of a huge element of people's lives internationally. Also, I feel like Chicago has this burgeoning art scene and could really use an event like this. We're gonna be promoting the hell out of this show and hopefully we'll get a positive response.
So I'm hitting up my flist on LJ. So what do you think of the idea? Would you be at all interested in participating in the show by showcasing some of your photography? I really dig your work and only have 2 other photographers off of LJ so far. I'd love for you be part of it. Also, I'm not soliciting any of the artists for money or anything. And I'm not asking anyone to create any new work, just stuff that you've done, exhibited, printed, published, uploaded to LJ or anything else that you'd like to donate to the show. For artists that don't want to send original artwork, I have a solution for that too. If you're interested I can give you more details...
