I should be studying for my Ethics test tomorrow, but I'm taking a break.
I've started playing the Lotto on a weekly basis. 3 friends and I are pooling one dollar a week for the Saturday Drawing. It's fun, to have a week of daydreams...we've started talking about all the things we'll buy when we've won:
1. Paris, France
2. Las Vegas, NV
3. Toothpicks as gifts for each other (since that's what poor people use, right? We want to stay "real," stay "down to earth."
One person asked me if I knew that the Lotto is a "tax on the stupid." I responded I'd heard that before, but it's foolish; as I said, it's fun for a week's worth of daydreams. Also, it's a dollar for a small, miniscule chance to play a game. Also, what else are you going to use a dollar for? A tax on the stupid would be for those who consistently go to over-priced bars, or order over-priced food that's not worth it.
This person is now part of our 4 person pool. It's awesome.
I've gotten more into a mysticism kick recently. Damenmidway: it's on to be the most Mystic, the most Enlightened. Oh, wait--you just won. I'm way too humble to claim such a title for myself. Besides, the opinions of others are slavish, and are not correctly within my concerns. I wish for my will to conform to nature, to desire only what happens to occur. So congratulations!
