happy bunny year

Yesterday was the Chinese new year. I stayed home due to trepidation of driving through the snow (though tomorrow I'm definitely going to work.) I had dduk gook soup (Korean rice cake soup, traditional for new year's), watched Vampire Diaries and read a lot.

I think Bunny Year is off to a good start. The first thing I did this morning was look at the email on my phone and discovered that my favorite band, The National, are doing a show at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa in April. FUCK YES. Tulsa is only two hours away, so I will definitely go. To tell the truth, I am surprised that they are still touring, nearly a year after their album came out, but I'm not going to quibble. It's something to happily look forward to. The snow will melt, spring will come and I'll get to see my favorite band live again. YAY.

And other than the t-shirt, a cake stand off of Ebay, and a few books, I've actually been pretty good about not going on a spending spree of boredom during the snow-in. There was temptation to buy new boots (which I do kind of need), but I've resisted so far. (And maybe that was because I couldn't decide on the color, but that's besides the point.)
