I still can't find my camera cord, but it's been so long since I've done an update that I resorted to a few camera pics. They aren't as clear or bright as I'd like, though. But that's life, what else can you do? :(

Sarah Street sampler, pattern by Little House Needleworks
stitched on 32 ct Vintage Buttercream fabric by Lakeside Linens,
recommended threads

I really like pink and green color combinations so that was a big draw in stitching this. Also, bunnies! Patterns with bunnies are pretty much a given.

Queen of Birds, pattern by Romy in Austria
stitched w/silk thread on 36 ct Precious Metals by Picture This Plus

This one is stitched on opalescent fabric, so it has a bit of metallic thread woven through the fabric. It's much more sparkly in real life than the photo. (Damn you, camera phone!) Stitching on 36ct, which is higher than what I normally stitch on, was really not that hard on the eyes, although the repetitiveness of the celtic border did drive me crazy.

And here is what I'm working on right now.

Chatelaine workshop #4
on 32 ct antique white linen

Chatelaine has four different workshop pieces, each one focusing on a different type of stitch. Awhile back, I posted the first one I finished, was on jessica stitches. Then I started on #4, which is for eyelet stitches, but dropped it for awhile. I start and stop a lot of projects; the number of unfinished projects I have is actually kind of depressing.

I picked up this one again, because I needed a little break from Japanese Garden and this one is pretty close to being actually finished. I love stitching on Japanese Garden and I'm determined to get it finished this summer, but it's so big to deal with. I don't have a fancy stitching frame stand, so I have to prop it up against a little tray table when I work on it. It's a nice change to work on something that I can hold in hand.

So thanks for making it through the crafty portion of this post. That is pretty much all that is going on in my life right now. The weather is very mild in Oklahoma compared to the rest of the country (and also compared to last winter's snow storms), but either way there is something about January that is just soul crushing, isn't there? I think bears have the right idea about winter, better to get fat and try to sleep through it.

Oh yeah, I am really enjoying watching Downton Abbey on PBS. There is nothing so relaxing as a big opulent melodrama with people swanning about in gorgeous period costumes while Maggie Smith makes bitchy comments at them. It's awesome.

ETA: Aaand I updated my lj layout, thanks to scholarslayouts. So I did manage to accomplish something on my days off after all.
