I didn't like the Time Traveler's Wife either. I read two chapters and didn't pick it up again. This could also be due to my total lack of interest in books in general lately but... Idk. I had the opportunity to watch the movie on the weekend and chose moping around and painting my fingernails ghastly colours instead - I think this says something, lol.

When my friend lent it to me, she said it starts out weird, then gets better, so I was waiting for it to improve, but it kept getting worse, IMO. I was excited to read it too, since I haven't read any books in soooo long =( I ALWAYS choose moping around, lol. I spent all of last summer doing it!

Lol, the 'wait for the second half' advice is always rather annoying. If the author doesn't have the good sense to catch my attention in the first half of the book then they're not worth reading, lol. The Time Traveler's Wife was a little too... Smushy, I think. Coming out of the HSC I was geared for stress and blood shed and angst so smushy wasn't a good fit :) I think the HSC is probably to blame for my aversion to reading too - that or it's catching, lol.
