Random Niceness.

So a few weeks ago I found a box of Thin Mints with a note attached on my front porch. The note read:

"Dear Neighbor,
Please accept my apologies for almost running you over at the end of our street over a month ago. I also apologize for taking so long to admit it and apologize to you. It was a Wednesday night and I was in a hurry, there were lots of cars and I just wasn't paying attention.
God's been after me to talk to youo. I wonder if it scared you as much as it did me.
Anyway, I hope you have a great day! --Leanne"

I had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. Did she mean she almost ran me over physically, or just almost hit my car? I've people come by really fast while I was pulling out and it irritated me, but never to the point that I thought I had almost been killed! I waited a really long time to write her back, even though I ate the thin mints within two days of receiving them...

"Dear Leanne,

Now it’s my turn to apologize for waiting so long to contact you. I was touched by your letter, and really appreciate your apology. I vaguely remember the incident, but I must have not been too traumatized by it since I didn’t dwell on it for long. By the time you said anything about it, I had to really think about what you were referring to.
Don’t feel bad at all. We all get in a hurry sometimes, and it’s those little scares that remind us to slow down from time to time. It’s good to occasionally reevaluate if what we’re hurrying for is really worth it.
Again, thank you for the gesture and the note. It’s nice to know that there are people around that care. Have a wonderful day!

Sincerely,

Caelie Winchester"

I pretended that I kind of knew what she was talking about so that she wouldn't feel weird about writing me for something I had no idea what she was talking about. The whole situation has been really weird. Oh well...

I think I saw my bike today. It was attached to the front of the Alameda bus. Some things were different like the handlebars and pedals, but that could just be alterations the thief made. Maybe it's not my bike... I don't know...
