I believe we are going to all have to come to the table and find a way to solve our problems TOGETHER. I am a pretty spiritual sometimes "mystical" person. It is how I "see" the world. Helps me to define patterns and trends and evolution.
That makes some folks unfortable. They tend to criticise instead of understand.
Our world right now is VERY INTERESTING. I think sometimes it is more hopeful than it has been ... for SOME of us.
There are still many on each side (every side) that are STUCK and rigid... and work against solutions... and yet they are just working against themselves.
If my talk of spiritualness in relation to the logical and material aspects of the world situation doesn't bother you.. go right ahead.
Don't get me wrong. I am not some "new age" person .. I pretty grounded.. but I see an emergence of the synthesis of the logical and the spiritual.... it has to be this way. Throw out old dogmatic forms of religious believe.. whether it is Fundamentalist Religion or Fundamentalist Free Market ideology...or scientific Materialism.
No… I drifted around for some while - Chicago, New Mexico - and ended up in South Carolina. Odd, though: My brother mentioned once that there is a salmon-pull about the place, that as the years go by a desire to return grows within you.
Sometimes I feel it. Sometimes I want to see a Sohio station again; I do think it would be nice to watch WXIX again, or listen to WEBN. WVXU has a web site now, I can listen to that any time I want… But Channel 19 is just another Fox station now with no local programming (no Hattie the Witch, sorry), and the radio stations all play the same Top 40 you can hear anywhere, and in fact the last time I was there I was filled with horror and dismay - dismay for what had changed in the places I knew, and horror at the imagining that I was still there, that I was still listening to WEBN and WROQ as I was driving down Reed Hartman Highway, that I'd never got out… !
I shot across the Ohio River and didn't stop until I reached Lexington.
