Random Riku Head-Canon Thoughts

Random ideas for various things about Riku's character. These are all theories, and if any readers have opinions on the theories stated in this post, I would love to discuss it with them!
I believe Riku's birthday may be December 21st. This is the first day of winter, and the longest night (time of darkness) in the year. I always thought of Riku as having a winter birthday, and Sora having a spring/summer birthday. (The two being a year and a half apart is very plausible - Sora looks freshly-turned-14 in KH, where Riku looks mid-15.) I'd thought about perhaps Feb. 9th (his English VA's birthday), but decided Dec. 21st suited him more. This also fals into the gap of time between the end of R/R and his first appearance in Days, according to my timeline.
"I wished I could live life the way you do... just following my heart." This quote leads me to believe that Riku was facing some sort of oppression in his life before. It's obvious he felt held back on the islands, with it being a small world, but other factors may have made this even harder on him. Perhaps his parents had a planned career path ahead of him? Or maybe he feels emotionally restrained, by having to keep up his 'cool' exterior, while Sora was free to do as he pleased.
