That's what i liked about my first job in HK, cause there was regular training and professional development support to help the new teachers improve - soooo useful if you are just starting out! And I do wish i had something similar for kindergarten age kids.

And yeah, I was thinking apply for JET while in college but not sure yet. Is it really common for people to not get it due to being overqualified though??

The benefit of me going to teacher's college would mostly be if i wanted to do the NET scheme in Hong Kong, or work in an international school here. Still not sure how it would affect my job chances in Japan. But, that's all I really care about currently, since I doubt i'll be working in Canada any time soon!! So I'll have to research necessity of teaching degree for good jobs in Japan too...

I shall look into that "Shane's English school".... ;)
And YES!! Hope I can see you then! For your ref., the time I will most likely not be there is the Chinese NY holiday from 8 Feb - 21 Feb cause I plan to travel! But otherwise....weeeeeeelcome wwweeeeeeeeeeelcome! Sucks you won't find out anytime soon!! :(
