week-end
so today my supervisor is out sick, which means that as of now, i've got nothing to do. most people wouldn't have a problem with this, i suppose, but i could never really spend that much time surfing the net, never mind all day. thankfully one of my other co-workers just came in, so i shall be able to keep myself busy until she can help me out.
it has been a good first week of work. the weather's been nice, for the most part so i've been taking my lunches to the park & walking around to get to the know the area. very nice & pretty, but expensive!! not that i expected anything different, after all, this is the upper west side, but still. then again, i'm also a bit of a penny-pincher & dislike spending money. ah well. btw, if anyone's ever in the area, let me know & we can meet up for lunch!
so last weekend, 2 of the girls from my church fellowship got engaged, one right after the other. they're dropping like flies! it's kind of hard for me to imagine, especially since one of them i've known for quite a while & is only about a year older than i am & the others still aren't that much older anyway. i suppose it might be because i don't think of myself as being almost mid-twenties - i certainly don't see myself that way. in some ways, i think i'm still very much a little kid. don't know if others see me in the same light.
given that i now have about an hour & 1/2 commute each way to work, i've been in search of some (new) reading material. currently re-reading john grisham's the client, which i absolutely love. it's gotten to the point that i can just open it & start reading right away and readily skip exactly to the parts i like best. however, i'm in the mood for something new & good, so if anyone has any suggestions, send them here. :)
