columbus day weekend
i was lucky enough to get a 5-day weekend last week. third day for columbus day, fourth day since they needed to de-install a 9/11 exhibit on the same floor as our office & it would have been just us & the guys in the haz-mat suits, & fifth day, cause evidently, they needed another day to clean up. so yeah. i had a really good weekend. :)
went up to boston to see the college roommate, A., & also saw sienak & church people. all & all very nice & fairly relaxing.
the only bummer about the weekend is that my stupid laptop decided to die on me. working, working, working, & the next thing i know, it dies on me. i had turned it on, was using it, turned it off, & when i went to turn it back on, it started up, blinked it's little lights at me for about 2 seconds & then quit & went on strike.
maybe i should have given it a different name, because my black douglas seems to think i'm edward I or something.
grrr.... at least someone techy is currently looking at it, & will hopefully fix it so i will have it back to it's normal self (all files in tact) in a week, since i really don't want to have to get another one. good thing most of the important stuff is backed up or online. i think most of the latest additions are extra stuff anyway. fun stuff, that i'd rather not lose if it can be helped, but unimportant. my biggest concern at the moment is to get the dvd i had been watching, out.
& can i just say how much i'm enjoying this weather? yay for it finally feeling like fall!!
