Since 2013 Herefordshire council has organised a county-wide "Herefordshire Art Week - abbreviation = "h.Art" " during September. This year's event took place from September 7th until 15th . . . but with English logic, it is still called a "Week" (a few venues continue to exhibit for even longer. Please just accept this as fact, I would be unable to answer your confusion). This year there were 111 venues and 403 exhibitors.
The standard of "art" on show varies, personally I rarely visit any of the venues. I know if I did I would see very similar style pottery, painings of flowers, strange looking things labelled "sculpture" made parts of dead trees, various and often similar items made by blacksmiths, costume jewellery, knitted objects etc etc at several separate venues.
However, on my way home yesterday I called in at a small cafe which serves excellent coffee and home made cake, it was also a "h.Art" venue. I sat in the garden enjoying the late summer sun with my slice of fruit cake and cup of espresso hoping the giant spiders were not real:
The last day of the two-week long "Herefordshire Art Week". Nobody had purchased this sculpture, priced at £2450 . . . . I was not surprised.
