Yesterday I visited the small town of Ross-on-Wye about 35km from my home. It was hot and sunny and lots of people were out and about and, being Easter weekend, many tourists were visiting the scenic Wye Valley area where I live.
I noticed this tree near the car park I used.
In the centre on the older branches there are many bunches of the ever-green parasitic plant, Mistletoe (Viscum album), that, in England, lives on a variety of deciduous trees, most commonly on apple trees. It gives the appearence of the tree being partly in leaf, but this early in spring, the leaves have not yet formed. (In the top of the tree are three bird - most likely crow -nests).
