i think i may have a crush on someone.
in fact, i know i do.
and it isn't either of the people i've had like me in return recently.
i'm almost sure this person doesn't like me in that way, but whatev...
so i have rehearsal today and it
sucks. i need to get a paper done that my teacher (who i have a crush
on, but is different from this other crush!!!hahahaha) was so nice of
enough to grant me an extension on. i also have tons of other work. i
need to complete my human rights internship application before tomorrow
so that my recommender can see what i'm doing. this week isn't going to
get any easier!
anyhow, come see my show:
University Theatre Presents:
VALSE
By Ernst Toch
Directed by: Angeline Gragasin
Starring: Evan Chung, Samantha Cook, John Frame, Elizabeth Godfrey,
John Lago, Matthew Landback, Vanessa Tantillo, and Katie Waddle
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
November 3-5
8pm
Reynolds Club Third Floor Theatre
$5
An idea of what we're trying to do:
Gragasin and the Valse ensemble use Ernst Toch's 4-minute, mid-20th
century spoken chorus piece as inspiration for creating an extended
20-minute performance. Using the acting techniques of mime, "clowing,"
Viewpointing, and others, the group dances (literally) on the line
between theatre and spectacle, silence and sound, the physical and the
vocal. Using only their bodies and their voices on a bare stage, the
actors transform Toch's piece of jargon-filled wordplay, into a story
that is guaranteed to surpise.
Valse plays before:
Matchstick Theory
Written by U of C student Ian Romain
Directed by Michael Stevens
