having a little fun with my new puter. I should be doing homework, but who needs that!? THis is way more fun.
I had a bad few tours last week, and I was beginning to hate my job. Thought this weekend all was much better, and now i love it once again. I was trying to tell far too many stories in 90 minutes, and trying to walk my tours too far. I was continually in a hurry to get to the next stop, tell my story, and get the heck to the end before I ran out of time. As a result, I was tired, the tourists were fried, and my tips reflected this.
This weekend I decided to cut off an entire section of the tour, leaving out a few good stories. I just didn't care and wanted to get the tour over with. What i didn't realize until I actually did it, was that I then had a lot more time to play with. I wasn't rushed and was and able to tell better, and longer stories at each stop. At the end I wasn't tired, they weren't tired, and they had a much better time. I never thought caring less about my job would result in me doing it better. Life advice perhaps? The journey of the tour guide continues.
