More things than one

While watching an episode of House on hulu.com, one of the commercials that were shown was for the new Brad Pitt movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.  It’s based on an F. Scott Fitzgerald story.

When the commercial was over I immediately wondered if the story was included in the copulation I have of some Fitzgerald’s work.  Right after wondering that, I wondered if I would have enough time to finish reading Twilight and get The Curious Case of Benjamin Button read before its Christmas day release.

After grabbing the book from the shelf and checking… it turns out that I’ll have plenty of time.  The story starts on page 159 and the next story starts on 182.

They made a 2.5 hour movie from a 23 page story.  Right on.

Recently, I’ve been thinking about alcohol more often than I really should be.  I blame it on the holidays.  Ok, blame is a strong word, but I do rationalize my preoccupation with alcohol with the fact that it’s the “drinking” time of the year.

Holidays = Drinking, right?

Just say yes.  That answer helps me to sleep at night.

Christmas Eve is at Mary’s house this year.  We’re doing it “simple”.  Ham, mashed potatoes and a veggie…maybe some bread.  Oh…and pies.

Originally we were only having over Mom and Dad, then we decided that we’d invite over the two families who have the under 18 kids so that we could give them their gifts.

That then turned into inviting this one and then that one and then… well, now it’s the whole family minus two of my brothers.  One brother won’t be there because he lives in Tucson, AZ, the other brother won’t be there because his wife and our family don’t get along at all.  It’s a bummer that we won’t see that brother, but it’s ok, too.

The day after Christmas Mary, James, Mom and Dad will be going over to Tucson for a few days, should be fun.  We have a list of free/cheap things to do while there, so that’ll be cool.

I’m jazzed that Mary’s turning her guest room into a tv/game room.  w00t.  It’ll be super cool to be able to let James have his friends spend the night and they can play late and crash out on the floor in sleeping bags.  That’s a super sweet plus.  And extra plus is that I'll probably be able to put Blue's kitty condo in there, too.
I'd put it in my room, except I prefer to sleep with my door closed and keeping him locked in my room is NOT an option.  LOL

*EDIT TO ADD: in the first sentence of the second paragraph, copulation was supposed to be compilation.   LOL, thanks to Trexphile for pointing out what Word thought was ok.  LOL!!
I'm still laughing!
