Over Memorial Day weekend we took our Ballhogs Baseball Club (www.ballhogsbaseball.com) up the road a bit (2hrs-ish) for weekend long baseball tournament. While there most all of the families went to watch the Padres A team (Lake Elsinore Storm) play.

Between minor league games there are always games. Mary and I were kinda shanghighed (sp?) into doing one of these games. The game was where we put on this HUGE belt. From the belt we were connect (at the rear) by an 8 ft bungie. We had to run away, opposite of each other, and relay style put these tennis balls into a bucket.

The balls and the bucket were placed in such a way that there was NO WAY that we were getting out of it without at least one, if not both, of us ended up on our ass.

Well, it ended up just one of us... Mary. I yanked and dug in and really pulled kinda probably harder than I should have (we both REALLY hate to lose) and she ended up falling backwards and hitting her head pretty darn hard.

They felt bad for her and we got baseball caps.

Yah. We laughed too.

Well, she was in serious pain right away (head only) then the next day the whiplash started to set in (neck and shoulders).

By the time we got home from the weekend she decided to go get things checked out. This ended up SUCH A GOOD THING because they found blood in her urine (still trying to figure out what the deal is with that) and her sugar was super high and some other stuff too.

Now she is, and so am I, thankful for the fall because the only symptom she was having in relation to her kidneys was a backache and she said that without the fall she never would have gone to the doctors for a simple back ache.

Tonight she got back (via email from Kaiser Perm.) the results from her blood test from the morning and apparently there's evidence that she might have a kidney disease. :(

So, me knocking her on her ass was good... now she's been made aware of the kidney issue and she and her doctor can begin a course of treatment.
