Lots cramed into one Sunday

I can’t really put into words how much it totally sucks to LIVE in San Diego and NOT go to Comic Con. Every year I kinda forget to plan for it, so when it comes either it’s SOLD OUT(!!!!) or I don’t have the throw-away money set aside for it.

This next one will be different. I just turned to James (he’s on the love seat watching the Yankees v. Red Sox) and said, “Next year we’re going. And we’re going every day, ALL day.”

I was a little shocked when he excitedly asked, “Really?!”

So, ok, next year, Comic Con. Doing it. Gotta start savin’ now.

Mass today was cool. I liked the readings, though Deacon Carl’s homily didn’t really jive with the readings exactly.

I super like it when Mary and I read and James serves too. Makes it kinda neat and even more special than Mass is already.

After Mass was baseball…

Today we had tryouts for the Ballhogs teams (ages 13, 12, 11 and 10). The turn out was strong, but not really what I had hoped for. There were maybe 20 new kids trying out and most all of the returning players were there too (everyone has to tryout again to make the team).

We had players on three separate fields. It was actually quite impressive, I thought anyway.

One really cool thing was that we were able to fish in players from several different Little Leagues and PONY Leagues…. ones from all over San Diego.

There are still some who were on vacation these two weeks and will come and see us when they get back in town and there were some who couldn’t make it this weekend but could make it next weekend.

After baseball was a shower for James then off to the bowling alley so he could hang out with his Big Brother Danny.

Dad gave me a coupon for 6 free games. Sweet, huh?

Danny and James each bowled three games and had fun doing it. I didn’t sit and watch them for several reasons, two of which are that I don’t like to “infringe” on their Big Brother - Little Brother time and the other reason is that it was SO LOUD. I opted to hang out in the bar (still loud but not so bad) and do some word finds and read my book.

After they finished bowling they shot some pool.

Once we left the bowling alley we went to Mom and Dad’s for dinner…

Dinner was a creamy white sauce over chicken and pasta. It was yummy. A few capers would have made it perfect.

Now it’s chilling time before starting the week all over again. w00t.
