Friday, started badly but ended okay...

Work was...strange. I think everyone's going to go completely crazy before the end of May. I feel like I'm walking a tightrope, trying not to take sides or get involved in all the little dramas. It's not that I don't have opinions or agree with one person or side over another, but I was always taught to be a PROFESSIONAL at work and to me that includes not having a meltdown in front of anybody, not getting into a screaming match with a parent in the front office, and not airing all the dirty laundry in public so to speak. And I work with many different people throughout the day and excuse me for being "old-fashioned" as someone recently called me but I happen to think we should try our best to get along and not have to resort to screaming and threatening. Maybe something's in the water, people who have always been calm are suddenly the complete opposite.

Well, my sister invited us over for dinner unexpectedly which was fine with me. It was actually a very enjoyable evening except for one child (not mine this time!) who desperately needed some time out. But the food was good as was the conversation. Isn't it amazing how simple things can raise your spirits and make the world seem a kinder and better place?
