walk with me, by Benjamin Mazei

Jul 18, 2004 05:01

i sent you a letter on day one scripted in lips and heart enclosed with a promise to bleed if i had to, and on that day having cornered all fear and opening my eyes for the first time to a world painted blissful by our clasped hands, i had become immortal. seasons bid birds fly south and home again, and still i find the only place i am whole is by your side. standing tall and brave, i beg you, on my knees and birthing rivers from my eyes, i plea, at every fork and confusing road, i pray, walk with me.
every mountain baring frost and desolation. conquer it with me. i will be your guide.
every river threatening so sweep away hope. cross it with me. i will be your vessel.
every desert, playground of sol and bone where memories fade. flourish there with me. i will be your drop of water and escense of life.

please walk with me.
