Saw III, Grey's Anatomy, & CSI

Wow, what was up with LJ being down earlier? Eeek, I never realized how much this site means to me until it was down.

Aaa-neee-wayyy... I watched Saw III last night. I didn't like the second one much (I heard right -> it was too gory and missing the psychological creepy simple gore of the first), BUT my friends and I haven't been to the cinema for ages and this was one everyone agreed on.

It was AWESOME!

I actually clapped a little and was kinda laughing at the end (and through some of the gore too).

And I'm not even a gore/horror fan. Yikes! zitosballgirl75 will be proud :D.

I think CSI has really desensitized me to gore. I used to be scared of horror movies largely cause of the gore, but now, ehhh. So THANK YOU CSI.

But, yeah, Saw III. Okay, some of the stuff in there was full-on. Yes, I cringed a little through the ring in the lip, the ripped-out ribcages, the grounded pig goo, and the twisting head (I could still much on my snacks though...), BUT I really liked this one cause it had a lot of the psychological creepiness of the first one.

The second one, I reckon, was the worst, because it was all about a bunch of strangers locked together, unbound, and getting slaughtered one by one. Where have I seen that before? Oh yeah, in about every other horror/slasher movies out there. BORING.

Saw III kept it simple, narrowing the victims to the vengeful dad and the dead-on-the-inside doctor, who, we found out later, are actually husband and wife.

I liked that the dad was given the chance to save the people he despised and that he even tried to. And I particularly loved how they were all connected to Jigsaw and Amanda at the end. Poor Amanda can never be a Jigsaw heir. It was weird, but their relationship --- a relationship between a serial killer master & protege --- came across as rather touching.

Jigsaw, you're one sick, brilliant motherfucker.

And I also liked how this one wrapped up what happened at the end of Saw I & II with Leigh Whannell's and Sgt Lipton Donnie Wahlberg's characters. Btw, was it GOOD to see Leigh again! I kept telling my friend next to me, "That guy goes to RMIT! Saw was made by RMIT guys, Melbourne guys!" She went to RMIT but did not know that little tidbit ;). GO MELBOURNE!

So yeah, gory and sick --- usually not my cup of tea --- but it was such a good ending to a trilogy.

I also managed to see Grey's Anatomy and CSI yesterday.

Grey's Anatomy
- I LIKED Derek's sister. She was cool! Especially for continuing to call Meredith "the SLUTTY intern" and especially after seeing her brother walked out of the shower nekkid. I mean, I'd probably be scarred for life. Yeah, can't handle nekkid family members. That's not weird is it?

- You know, unlike a certain other TV show I shall not mention (*cough*supernatural*cough*), Grey's handles additional characters VERY WELL. Like Addison, Callie, Mark -> I really like them all! Ehhh, maybe it's cause I absolutely despise Derek & Meredith.

- Doctor of the day, for me, was Alex. How absolutely BRILLIANT was he when he talked to the baby in the womb??? That brought tears to my eyes, it really did. Awww, Alex wants to join the baby squad! Oh, please let Alex come back to Addison. I really adore this team-up.

- A close second place for doctor of the day was Cristina. Oh man, the way she looked out for Burke... It was awesome and selfless... See, Meredith! Shut the fuck up about McDreamy, will you! I LOVED it when Cristina told her off, "The world doesn't revolves around you" -> I'm surprised it took her this long, considering how Cristina is.

- Izzie's back! And, yeah, she is awesome with patients. Her heart just allows her to notice those little things about patients. I hope Izzie becomes a full doctor again soon.

- Poor Bailey... But now that she knows about Cristina, I wonder what she'll do.

CSI
- Boy was it hard to see Wash play a paedophile. He's just too sweet! If you're wondering, Wash is a character from Firefly

- Grissom looks like he's checking out of CSI soon. William Petersen's contract finishes at the end of this season, right? I wonder if he's leaving. Hmmm, and I wonder how this show can survive without Grissom. It'll be a big gap. And plus, they're getting their butt kicked by Grey's... Hmmm, not good.

- There was a good Greg/Sara scene ("I turned on the music") but no Nick/Sofia :(.

Okay, well I think I'm going to read for the afternoon. Woke up kinda early today (for a Sunday) to go to Camberwell market. Didn't get anything besides this blue dress with tiny pink-white-green dots. Cute!
