F1 Spanish GP & MotoGP in China - Go Spaniards Alonso and Pedrosa!

May 15, 2006 02:41

Good day for Spaniards :).

Dani Pedrosa won his first MotoGP in China and, more significantly, for F1 Fernando Alonso won at home! First time a Spaniard's won the Spanish GP!

Awesome results. Alonso was just on top the entire race. He was blazing through and the Ferrari just couldn't come close. Damn Fisichella though for not being able to deliver Renault 1-2 finish. Ahh well... At least Alonso won at home. He looked so ecstatic and even said that he felt like he did when he won the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP last year. Awwww... Guess that's what it meant to win at home. The stands were choked-full of beautiful Renault blue and the Spanish flag, and the guys working the tracksides saluted him as he did the victory lap. Deservedly so :).

He did this funny dance too, just like in Aussie. Like he was moving, cave-man-like, dragging both his arms. Very odd, but cute. I wonder what it meant, ha ha...

Michael Schumacher sure looked all kinds of pissed though. Ah well, he hates losing.

Poor Kimi though... Kinda invisible today. And Montoya didn't finish. McLaren's really got to get their act together. Hopefully they won't let Alonso down next year... And hopefully, if anyone gets to fill Alonso's seat in Renault, it'd be Kimi. He hasn't been having the best of luck in his current team and would do well with a more consistent/reliable/stable car (such as Renault).

For my own records:
F1 - Spanish GP at Catalunya
1. Alonso
2. Michael
3. Fisichella
4. Massa
5. Kimi
6. Button
7. Barichello
8. Heidfeld

Nice result for BMW. I love how they're kicking Williams' butt at the moment.

Spain would be partying like crazy tonight, especially considering Dani Pedrosa also won for MotoGP, which, before Alonso came along, was much more popular in Spain.

I picked Pedrosa as the guy to root for after my very first MotoGP, so I'm happy :). And I quite like his teammate Nicky Hayden as well. Good-lookin' boy with the thickest Southern accent. My dad's team Suzuki also did unusually well, with Hopkins finishing on fourth. Casey Stoner, who also impressed me the last time and who apparently is Pedrosa's "bitter rival," finished on fifth. Nice!

Valentino Rossi didn't finish. Heh. Heard he wanted to drive for F1. Ferrari specifically. Hope Alonso'll kick his butt up and down the tracks...

MotoGP'll give me something to watch next week when F1 has their break. And then in two weeks... Monaco GP! I love the Monte Carlo circuit. Always a lotta things going on there...

I should get cable. That way I can watch a lot of sporting events live. And get those Yank sports, baseball, the NBA, and maybe hockey.

Should sleep now. A little after 3am now. Good thing I don't have to work tomorrow :)
