Fandom Snowflake: Day 5

Jan 05, 2017 10:12

Day 4 was to talk to some strangers, so I did that on
st_aurafina's Friending Meme.

Day 5

In your own space, post recs for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Whether you read fic or listen to it, watch vids or listen to fanmixes, love art or graphics or meta or adorable hand-knitted Supergirl dolls, everybody has favorites. Tell us about them, whether they're in rare fandoms or or megafandoms. Share the fanworks closest to your heart, whether they are made by under-appreciated artists and podficcers, or by famous vidders and BNF knitters. We want to know about the rarest of rare-pairings and the most popular, too. If you wanted, you could even pick a theme à la
fancake. Here's the bottom line: if you love it and someone else made it, please share it!

Yay, recs!

The theme of this recs set is going to be "things I've loved recently."

if this isn't nice, i don't know what is by
marswithghosts is a lovely, lush explicit OMGCP fic about Kent Parson falling in love with someone who can out-patient his freakouts and fear of commitment. Also features the best first therapy session ever.

In Ravelry news,
PinkLemons (who was a Ravenclaw last term, although I think she usually plays for Hufflepuff?) made this ABSOLUTELY STUNNING crochet version of the ornate, Chinese- and Malay- and European-influenced pre-WWII decorative tiles on a path outside shophouses in her home country of Singapore. That's right, a CROCHET FANWORK (and then a pattern for the rest of us to do it!) of some of the most stunningly beautiful tiles I've ever seen. Yay architecture fandom! (The pattern is called Blair Road.)

Also the pattern is free, because wtf?!

Summary:
Wooster has a reputation for pinching things--necklaces, amber statuettes, umbrellas--a reputation that becomes dashedly awkward when Lord Attenbury's emeralds go missing.

Oh my god, a Jeeves & Wooster/Lord Peter Wimsey crossover that MAKES SENSE! And is hilarious and tragic and poignant and exciting and...perfect.
