Day 1
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
This was my Yuletide pinch-hit:
Camouflage Behavior in M. dictus: Distinguishing Ditto from Pidgey (1178 words) by
cadenzamuseChapters: 1/1
Fandom:
Pokemon GORating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Blanche/Candela (background)
Characters: Spark (Pokemon), Blanche (Pokemon), Candela (Pokemon)
Additional Tags: Canon-Atypical Curse Words
Summary:
Three first days of school in the life of Spark, graduate student and Pokemon master. (Well, at least the first one, anyway.)
It is not my best work, by far--I think there are holes that need more words/more plot, but the story was due and I found the amount of research I needed to do on the animated series for worldbuilding to be really daunting. I am actually kind of proud of managing to get through it, though, as well as of what I learned about the Pokemon universe and the meme references I worked in.

Postscript (560 words) by
cadenzamuseChapters: 1/1
Fandom:
Gilmore GirlsRating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings, Underage
Characters: Jess Mariano
Additional Tags: Juvenilia, Post-Canon
Summary:
Jess stays. And lives happily ever after. One-shot, sort-of. (Re-post of very old fic from fanfiction.net.)
I still get kudos a couple times a week on the Gilmore Girls fanfic I wrote in high school, but not usually this one. Which is a shame, because I think this is the best one, in terms of capturing the idyllic feeling of Gilmore Girls and letting 16-year-old me write the word "fuck" and not being super obsessed with getting Jess and Rory back together.

There Must Be Other Rivers (1021 words) by
cadenzamuseChapters: 1/1
Fandom:
xkcd 1190 (Time)Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Main female (xkcd), Main male (xkcd), Beret girl (xkcd)
Additional Tags: Post-Canon
Summary:
“Can trees live under the sea?” he asks.
“I don’t think so,” she says.
This was a Yuletide 2013 pinch hit, and I did so much goddamn research. Watched the comic in slow and fast motion at least a hundred times (not actually an exaggeration) over the course of two days, looked up flora and fauna of the Mediterannean basin, researched the history of the Zanclean flood, tried to use a writing style that evoked the sparse-but-rich stick figure world of the comics, and the curiosity of scientists. I actually think I did a damn good job on this one.
