Last night,
musamea and I hung out with
wizefics again. There was much discussion of The Future (especially with the pretty shiny thing on
musamea's finger. We also mourned the death of S.W.O.R.D., discussed Messiah Complex and Cable (both of which I have not read, but after the quick runthrough
wizefics, I really want to!), and ate yummy food (although I had, alas, forgotten my ID so could not drink--which is probably better anyway because I seem to be coming down with The Crud), and A Good Time Was Had By All. :D
fannish5: Name five fictional workplaces where you would like to be employed.
1. The Jeffersonian, with Bones. I have the wrong kind of science training, but they do cool shiny science, have imaginary computer tech that does the crazy
image enhancement thing, seem like fun people to have as coworkers (if I don't mind randomly falling in love with one of them), and remind me a lot of the people and job I have already, only more fun/exciting/gross/high profile.
2. I agree with
handyhunter. The Pie Hole would be an awesome place to work. Especially since I've been going around telling everyone I want to quit science to become a baker.
3. Wish Catering, from Sarah Dessen's The Truth About Forever. The people are friendly, the pace is crazy but fun, and it involves making and serving food (I have this thing about wanting to cook as a job but not ever wanting to cook for myself).
4. Luke's Diner! Omg, you get to work with Luke! And Lane! And watch the wacky hijinks of the Lorelais Gilmore! And live in Stars Hollow!
5. Winding Circle Temple, Emelan (Tamora Pierce's Circle of Magic quartet). I debated between this and working as a Queen's Rider or Queen's Lady for Queen Thayet in Tortall--that's Tamora Pierce's other universe--but Winding Circle Temple seems like a lot more peaceful place, and I could do magic! And research! And hang out with some fairly sensible (and some fairly not-sensible) dedicates and initiates.
