Social Butterfly

So the last 6 days have been spent in an absolute haze of socializing. It's sort of exhausting!

Saturday: Visiting Ms Ang at her dorm for 4 hours, then taking Becca out for supper. Becca was my childhood best friend and when we moved we fell out of touch, but recently have reconnected and she's married! For like 2 years now. Wow.

Sunday: 13 kidlets. WOWZERS. But I love my hellions. All of them.

Monday: Ok. Not much happened on Monday besides school.

Tuesday: Not much on tuesday either.

Wednesday: Char calls me. Completely out of the blue and wants to know if we can hang out. Char and I went to HS together, and while we were in the same group, we were more acquaintance-y than really friends. She transfered to the UW I was attending and we hung out, but despite some superficial similarities and a lot of effort on both of our parts, we had trouble maintaining our friendship. It was generally awkward and surprisingly hard to find things to talk about. We kinda drifted apart.

Anyways, she calls me up, she's moved back into town and so we meet up at the McDs to have hot chocolate and catch up because we'd love to be friends with each other, we just can't seem to manage it. Turns out she is a SPN fan and a Dean girl and we talked until they threw us out of the McDonalds b/c they were closing. Maybe we just needed to have a subject in common that we were both passionate about?

Also on Wednesday, before school and before Char calls me, Becca called me and we spent a very companionable 1 1/2 hrs talking on the phone. I didn't even know people did that in real life. (talk an hour and a half on the phone that is). Becca and I are good phone buddies. It gets a bit awkward in person, but I'm not bad on the phone. (Yes, I have social issues)

Thursday: In class the java instructor (who I swear half the time doesn't even know my name) calls me by name 4 times in his lecture, where he's talking about good code examples. (I blushed most of the class.)

Friday (TODAY!!): Mere's mum came over at 8 am and I helped her with her MP3 player issue. Then mum and I (my mum, not Mere's mum) were invited out by a coworker for lunch. It was nice!

Social interaction is often fraught with stress, but I seem to be doing quite well. For now.
