I’m reading a psych/religion book (where psych meets religion and yet both fall short) in which the author states that “the primary definition of the soul needs to be nuanced and elaborated.” He basically says that the word soul has lost it’s true meaning and for some reason, the word ‘nuance’ really stuck out. It reminded me of ‘romance’ and I thought “you know, it’s not only the definition of the soul but the soul itself that needs to be nuanced and romanced too!” In fact, the soul is in constant need of nuancing! Like a shirt that fades from too many washings or a masterpiece that’s unfinished, we’re in need of brighter hues-lighter touches-fine distinctions. When’s the last time you re-defined your soul? Forget about romancing the stone! When’s the last time you romanced your soul? (not just your heart…your soul!)
