Boys, watch out 'cause those lyres are mine!
Phi Mu Alpha is the music frat here at Southern and because this is blitz week (they're not a normal frat so they don't "rush") they're all carrying around wooden lyres. Now the cool thing is that if a girl can manage to steal one, she has to cover it with candy and the guy serenades her to get it back. Picture it: music guys that can actually sing serenading you and calling you sweetheart...(Now ladies, tell me that isn't something you've always secretly wished for) ooh, and it's not just solo singing either. They have this gorgeous song with amazing four-part harmony!!! Incredible!!! So, yeah. I totally took Jef's lyre when he was smashing plates after practice....It was amazing!!!! There were probably like ten guys singing this song to me and they even got down on one knee for the last verse....*sigh* A capella goodness! (and I gave them good candy too! I bought one of those 1/2 pound Symphony bars by Hershey's and Dane told me to get Lindor Truffles...) I probably turned bright red and beamed the entire time, but oh my goodness!!! I wanted to kiss them all!!! (don't worry, babe, I didn't) But it was most definately the best part of my day by far!!! (either that or playing capture the flag in the dark...but that was night...so yeah) I think I'm gonna to do it again...just to hear them sing some more!
