I had an appointment with my academic advisor this morning for 9:30 so I showed up 15 minutes early (**gasp** I know! It's shocking!) and was able to walk right into Dr. Smith's office without a wait. In fact, he met me in the lobby and walked me to his office before I could even sit down! He's the head of the religious education program so there were little kid toys everywhere and classical music playing on the radio. (He used to play clarinet) We talked about home stuff and family life and future plans and the things we did over the summer and by the time he got around to changing my schedule, I felt like he could've been my uncle! I'm now taking a course in speech communications (not crazy about it, but it's required), an examined LIfe class focussed on Kate Hepburn, Western Civ (history class), and Helenistic Greek. I'm excited about the latter especially since everyone keeps telling me it's not an easy course....And I'm in symphony band so I get a non-major music scholarship and private lessons for free! Oh, and the best part? I got all of my books from the bookstore today and the total was just under $175. How cool is that?!?!
