What a turnaround.

This week started out really rough...

Had a panic attack saturday night, because of the sheer mountains of work i still had to do. One Mech B FULL lab = 18 pages of typing, graphs and tables. One Fluids lab that was tables out the wazoo, even though it ended up being only like 6 pages. Fluids homework that was due tuesday that I couldn't figure out and then I knew i was gonna be on campus for like 11 hours each of those days. To top it off my first two exams of this semester were monday and tuesday. Intermediate Dynamics monday which i failed with flying colors and then Operational Methods on Tuesday which wasn't too bad i don't think... i hope....

Other than that, I've been hitting the gym hardcore since the beginning of this semester. I go every monday weds and friday, and it's been noticeable... Midge and I have been trying hard to get in shape :) I've lost about 5 lbs, legit, and it's awesome. I've also been to the tanning booth to see if i can get a little color before ring dance, and that's working too!... Self confidence is a good thing. It's been a long, long time since i've felt this good about myself.

Well, as you all know, Tuesday was Valentine's Day. It was interesting, I mean I was on campus from 8am-730pm, with a test in Operational Methods from 2-315 as well. So I was a little frazzled. It started off kinda badly too when I realized (1) I forgot to eat breakfast, (2) I had driven to school, but left my wallet home, which means I left my lisence home, and finally (3) the fact i left my wallet home meant I didn't have my hokie passport either, so I couldn't eat anything until I got my wallet... So I didn't have food until about 8pm on Tuesday. I got out of lab at like 630 because the lab malfunctioned and we only got like half of it done, meaning we have to do the other half of that lab plus a full lab next week, and the week after that turn in the TWO complete lab reports. That should be fun.

Instead of going home from lab, I decided to surprise my friend Whitney at work. She seemed like she needed some cheering up, and I saw she was at work, so I bought a red rose and made a little homemade valentine and drove out to the Blacksburg salon where I thought she was. Well, turns out she wasn't there. So I drove out to the Christiansburg salon and surprised her. It was awesome. She also said she is considering looking into moving into the (soon) empty room we'll be having in our townhouse. We've had a couple options but they have all fallen through... Not to mention, living with Whitney would be awesome. :)

So we'll see how that pans out. I know she has another roommate with the situation she has to work out, but getting to see her everyday would be awesome, I don't get to see her enough at school. I'm used to my fellow Seymourian being right upstairs and poking my head into her cubucle on a daily basis. She's the best.

I almost died coming home though.... One of the problems of living in podunk, VA.... They don't have a lot of streetlights, especially on the smaller roads, like once you get off the highway (well even the highway doesn't have a lot of lights) but I went to turn left out of the shopping center, waited until there were no cars, and headed out into the intersection. DAMN if there wasn't a curb in the middle of the road that prevented me from doing that and now facing the WRONG direction on this road. Thankfully there was no one coming, but I swear, that scared me to death. I just turned around and did a u-turn at the median and made it home fine from there. (I am really NOT a bad driver... I just have bad luck) I got home from the salon and saw a box of chocolates on my chair from my awesome roomies :) Apparently Valentine's Day is also National Chocolate Day. Sweet! So the rest of the night was doing a little more homework, but talking to Alec over the phone for like 3 hours and listening to the CD he made me. It's awesome :)

Last night, I went over to Midge's and cooked dinner, orange-glazed chicken, iceburg lettuce, orange peppers and navel orange slices (sensing a theme?) I was proud, i pulled that out of my ass and it was REALLY good!

And now for today...It's Thursday. I just got out of class and am sitting in my room before i finish my Intermediate Dynamics HW.

T-Minus 17 days til i turn the big 21. I'm excited, but for some reason I keep kinda forgetting about the fact I have a birthday coming up. I just remember that Sunday night (march 5) the girlies and i are heading to the cheesecake factory. And that really excites me to no end. I miss those girls like crazy.

But the big 21 is gonna be fun. Like, I'm really looking forward to being able to go out to a bar, chill with my friends and just have a drink or two. I don't know, there is something about being in college and going out to eat and not being able to have like a glass of wine with dinner that makes me feel like sometimes I'm still in HS. I think it'll really sink in that I'm growing up for a change. The Junior ESM-ers are starting to get close too, so we're trying to start initiating like a one-night-a-week Happy-Hour outing for all of us. We've started to really get to know each other, and we thought it would be really fun to re-instate such a valuable (and relaxing) ESM tradition!

BTW:

Updates for the summer:
Still looking for a place to live, who knows. But Cummins is officially giving me $3,000!!!! In exchange for 20 hours of community service in 3 months! Good deal! Not to mention they are also raising my monthly salary from 2400/month to 2790/month. Almost 400 bucks, or an additional $1200 this summer. All in all, I have the potential to make 0\over $11000 overall this summer if I work for 3 months! Wow. I may actually have a future! ;)

Wow... this was another long one. Ok. I really think I'm done now. Promise. I swear. Wait. No. Yes. Yeah. I'm done.

Haha. I'm impressed.

Peace out, y'all :)
