Haven't been posting much. Up seeing Shoozie earlier, got back guitar amp and invited her round for dinner and a movie tomorrow. Will have been in this place 2 years at the end of next month, think it's about time to knock some kind of sense into this house.
Got access to my tapes and vinyl for the first time in 2 years. It's very nice, but some tapes are missing and I'm sure I had 3000, not 2000 tapes. I can only think of a few which are missing at the moment, Sex Pistols, Dallas, 10/1/78, P.I.L, Glasgow Apollo, 16/11/83 (my first gig). I'll have a look in the cupboards at my folks and will try to dig out a photo of the wall of tapes at my last house and do a headcount from the photo.
Was waiting for the bus last week. It was pouring with rain and the bus was about 25 minutes late. There was an aggressive ned in his 30s at the stop, trying to talk crap to me. He was joined by another one, who had been working in Asda, I think. The first one was spouting a lot of racist pish. They wouldn't put their heads out in the rain to see what was coming. When the 7 to Higher Govan showed, it was a little single deck Sprinter, badly lit. I told them it was an icecream van and they missed it. They weren't happy :-)
Walked into a gang fight round the corner from my folks, Govanhill v Toryglen. While I was talking to spme of the Govanhill ones, they were taking shots at Toryglen ones, who were trying to sneak up on them, with a handheld crossbow. Got down here and there was a car parked in the middle of the road, refusing to move for other cars. There were 2 neds hanging in the drivers window. One was proclaiming, very loudly, how everyone was dealing for his uncle, how his family were 'running the show' and everything had to be ok'd by them. He then began screaming at someone that he was going to shoot them in the stomach. Then there was a punchup outside my close.
Next day there was some major battling between the alkies on the ground floor, then a battle between a couple outside.
Got an unannounced 2.45am Sunday visit from a drunken mate. He finished his Buckfast, refused a Cypriot brandy, saying the Ouzo I bring him is fine, but he doesn't rate Cypriot spirits generally, and took a whisky. He didn't ruin it with coke after realising my bottles of coke had been sitting open in the fridge for over a year.
Been listening to a lot of techno/drum 'n'bass/hiphop, etc. Returning a favour someone did by recording over 100 DJ sets I've got recorded from Radio 1 over the years.
No doubt lots more I've forgotten to post, but this will do for the moment.
