This morning I got to meet a banded wood snail [cepaea nemoralis] in my "garden". It was poking around precariously close to my striped roma tomato seedlings. It was shy and didn't want to slide around on my hand, so I was kinda sad. But I got to see it moving after I set it down, and couldn't resist gently poking it. I really like the shell - I'd rather see these than the slugs that came around last year to eat my daikon.
Also, my dumbass chinese wisteria finally got some leaves on it the other day. Either it's not happy, or it just never gets the memo that Winter has been over for a couple of months now...
I wish that it would bloom this year, but I'm hip to its trickery. Whatever.
