1940s/urgent
If I go up to York this weekend (it's undecided; I've been ill) I'll be going to a 40s-themed party for which I'll need a last minute costume. Any ideas? Preferably for anything that could easily be made from, say, cardboard? Having scrabbled through my wardrobe and clowned my features tiny with odd makeup, I don't think I have anything workable just lying around, and I've no time to go shopping. Need to think on it in a different way. What books were new? I could be a book. Or a TV! If I were to make a cardboard set and get some grey facepaint... ugh, I don't know. Help!
