OTR and Trillian

Do you use Trillian? Do you want to use Off-the-Record Messaging* with Trillian? A plugin for Trillian now exists and is ready for release. It was written by Murphy, whom some of you know.

Plugins "require" Trillian Pro. Let me know if you're interested. I know there are at least a half dozen of you on my friends list that already use OTR w/ gaim or adiumx. It would be nice to have more of you using OTR.

*Off-The-Record Messaging is a protocol which offers 1) encryption, 2) authentication, 3) deniability, and 4) perfect forward secrecy.
  1. Encryption: Noone else can read your instant messages.
  2. Authentication: You are assured your correspondent is really whom you think they are, if you have verified their key
  3. Deniability: The messages you send do not have digital signatures that are checkable by a third party. Anyone can forge message after a conversation to make them look like they came from you. However, during a conversation, your correspondent is assured the messages they see are authenticated and unmodified.
  4. Perfect Forward Secrecy: If you lose control of your private keys, no previous conversation is compromised.
