That's great that you are getting so much done this week :)
I wanted to respond about the herbs in your napkins. My sister put rosemary in hers and it was wonderful, smelled great and everyone loved it!
Hope you are having a good weekend!

That's fantastic about the music and rabbi. I agree that a little something in the napkins could be nice. Rosemary is vey fragrant and won't wilt. Sage is also aromatic and fairly robust (and there are ten zillion different varieties). Too funny on the hair trial - definitely work with the person who'll be doing your hair. A half-up do might be a compromise? At least it'd be out of your face, then, if not off your neck? :-)

ooh, I feel your pain with the hair sitch. My mom had wanted me to wear my hair down for the longest time too...But eventually, I got my way!! Woo Woo!!! When I had my hair trial with it up, she eventually gave in and loved it.

Menus: I love the rosemary idea!! I did see a "good things" article in one of the MS weddings about rosemary...it is an herb of love and remembrance. Anyways, she also had a recipe for these delicious-looking rosemary cookies.

I saw the ad for Mad Hot Ballroom in the LA times today and said, "I want to see this!" Anything with the words "Ballroom" in the title has me won over. (Strictly Ballroom being on my top 5 fave movies of all time list - haven't we discussed this before?). Now I must go!!

Yay on the 6 RSVP's!!!! My dad got really nervous for a while b/c EVERY one that came in was a yes. Slowly but surely it got better but I think he was a little frightened!! (as was I!)

Hi Alex! I had so much fun reading your wonderfully detailed post while sinking my teeth into a huge cinnamon roll for breakfast. Oh, btw, please friend me:)

I love how everything is coming together for you(as together as things can be when you're planning a wedding from so far away. What type of music is klezmer? I wonder if I've heard it before.

I really like that you're going to do the dry-flower placecards/menus especially since the theme ties along with your invites(which I cannot wait to see). The sprigs of dry rosemary tucked in each napkin sounds divine, are you still deciding on doing it?

Hey Steph...I thought I friended you! I think I'm totally befuddled about whether me friending you is the same thing as you friending me. Okay, I'll do it in a minute. I will be so done with long distance planning when August 21 comes and goes! I highly recommend that you have your wedding down the street. klezmer music is a kind of joyful Jewish music that's used for traditional dances and is played with different instruments, often a clarinet. Think the fast songs from Fiddler on the Roof. It should be fun for our guests to hear something different. I'm going to start working on some of the menu card/place card things this week. I'm thinking maybe ferns across the top of the menu cards because they have that nice scrolly look. Who knows?

Just checking out the LJ... xhristina July 5 2005, 10:41:45 UTC
Hey you! I just visited your WC journal and saw that you (like so many others) decided to start a Live Journal....so I just thought I'd try to check it out. Don't know if I will start a journal myself just yet, but I was curious enough to just come over and try to get a feel for it. =)

I'm going to try this journal on for size for a while and I think I'll cross post wedding stuff on the WC. I just got so peeved with the new format! I hope you come by over here more often, but I'll be on the WC once and so as well.
