I got FIVE postcards today! Although only 4 were official postcrossing cards.
Also, I don't feel like making a separate post about the exciting news to which I woke up. At 9:30 Jim, our neighbor across the street told us that the trunk to our car was up. Indeed it was and the passenger-side door was open. Obviously someone slashed the soft-top in three places to try to get in. They ripped the lid off the center console, and the carpet of the ledge behind the seats, and stole retarded stuff. They took the registration, insurance, orig manual, paperwork from Discount Tires, and gas log from the glove box. They took the reusable grocery bags out of trunk and rucked everything up. They also ripped open the fuse compartment.
The weird issue with this theft/vandalism, is that Mom was up until around 2 AM and I was awake until at least 5AM, so when they heck did this happen? Admittedly, Mom we were in the living room until 2, and then I was in the den with earphones one. However, I went to bed with my window slightly open, which is about 8 feet from where the car was parked. I'm perplexed, bc I can't believe someone was so bold as to break into the car while the house lights were on, and I can't believe I wouldn't have heard something once I was in my bedroom (I was in bed by 4:20 AM).
Anyway, it's just a bad month for me and cars. This same car we just got back Tues night, after replacing the fuel pump. And it needed to get towed, which was an extra expense. And then last weekend the Corolla's ignition won't turn at all, so that car is generally useless (sometimes I can get it un-stuck). So currently, we have to chose between a car that can easily get stolen because of the holes in the rag top, or a car that may not get us home because the ignition is fussy. Awesomesauce.
Anyway this is my first postcard. I love France so it was really great to get a postcard from there (esp since Fr isn't as active as DE)
